Hello Everyone,

I am a golfer myself and I like to play whenever I get a chance.
A short while ago, a very good friend of mine told me about a great golfing equipment and accessories website that has discounted prices on all their products, same day shipping in most cases and there is no state sales tax, they are paying that.
So if any golfer here is ready to save some money on quality products at highly discounted prices, you might want to check out their site at; http://hoffmangolf.com

My configuration, FWIW, is Kubuntu 6.06/6.10 on an old HP laptop and a high-end frankenbox I built myself. I didn't mention it since I figured I'd save you trying to do the work of figuring out implementation details. :) I just wanted to get a bead on a piece of hardware that I know works before I go mucking about with the software. Your post particularly caught my eye since I prefer external devices to provide wireless networking (802.11x, Bluetooth, etc) so I can physically unplug them. :) If you happen to come across the model name/number, that'd be great, otherwise I'll just grab something by Kensington and take it for a spin. In any case, thanks for the information (and the obexftp post, which I already read part of :p)!

I'm not sure of your configuration so I'll save some of the details for more extensive blog entry.

WRT the Dongle I used, it's a Kensington. I'm not sure of the model, but it's fairly common. It was a gift and I think it was purchased at an Office Supply store. It worked no problem. I just needed to find some appropriate software.

See post for more info on software.

Sorry to post this as it's kinda off-topic, but...can you post the make/model of Bluetooth dongle you bought and the software-side procedure you followed to be able to get at the files on the phone from your Debian install? I have a Z525a, but hopefully the instructions will be the same (the theme works great on this model, thanks by the way).

I'm really impressed that you saw such an analogy from your kids! They are correct when they say: your kids teach you a lot; must be a wonderful feeling. Observation like that is what I think we *should* all gain with time. Some people call this sort of behavior “over-thinking” but I really have to disagree. I think a person gets more out of life if they can notice such subtleties and then make connections. (Me and my sister got into a row about this today...its still fresh in my mind!!!)

Also thank you for linking me to your blog :) you are also on my "recommended spaces" list.

As for Davy Boy...he's like a fly I’ve had buzzing around for a year...sometimes i like to swat him but that only happened once. I found that speaking with partial knowledge is what causes fools to rise to loud speaker podiums--I don't want to make the same mistake of defending myself to that idiot again--but its always fun to see what he has to say. (only sometimes) Here is the article and my reply to the last time we "talked":

LOL Forrest! Thats a good one. In a speach Humza Yusuf gave once when he came to memphis in May of 2005 he told us a similar story hinting at the same person. His went something like this:

He (Humza Yusuf) was trailing his bag from one terminal to the other at the memphis airport and without knowing he trailed it over an officers toes. The officer got very mad and started yelling (probably more so then usual cause Shaykh Humza was wearing robes, a traditional hat, and had a beard) claiming that Shaykh Humza had ment to do it. In his speach he went on to say that sometimes we look so hard at our goals and we want to get there so badly that we don't see if we steped on anothers toes. ...Somestimes we are so busy filling our bags with say *oil*...we don't see the officer coming towards you sputtering!

Humans are selfish. In love, in hate, in anger, in sorrow...all the time. Thats so disgusting!

Later,
Shahin.

Things ARE Pretty silly. That's the beauty of configurability. The variations on appearance of Linux Desktop environments is at least 10 orders of magnitude greater than that of other OSes.
